Wheel of death

Hi,

I have switched to transmission few days ago and since today i have the wheel of death on OS X Snow Leapard.

I'm on a 2010 Mac Mini, my OS is up to date, only Transmission is working, i made a hard reboot, twice, repaired the system preferences but i still have the wheel of death.

Any idea ?

The use of Onyx is useless is this case.

Is there any capacity limit ?

Edit:
As many P2P clients can have problems with external drives i'm only using the internal one.

I've been using Transmission for years with few problems, but lately I'm getting wheel of death/hangs very frequently. I doubt there's much I can do to isolate the problem, but I suspect a dying external hard drive (Firewire). I had over 2500 torrents and reduced that to 2200 and the problem persists. the last major problem i had with transmission happened after I topped the 2000 torrent mark, so I will continue thinning to see if that helps too.
