re-selecting parts of a Torrent file later on?

Post by lazioman »

I normally scrap the Torrent file when I activate it, but sometimes I only select certain parts from the Torrent file, only later to wish I had of selected others. I cannot see a way of resurrecting the initial download options of the Torrent file, other than removing the download entry and re-downloading the Torrent file itself i.e. starting over, is there a way to do it through Transmission and if not why?

Of course, if there isn't (which I suspect is the case) then I would like to make it a suggestion, in advance, while if it is possible then it's not very obvious and that needs to change also.

Thanks!

Yes.

The "how?" depends on what are you using (transmission-daemon, Transmission-GTK, Transmission-Qt, etc.) but all of them have a way to select the files on a torrent after you loaded it (similar to the way you used when you loaded it). If it is a GUI then just double click on the torrent (to open the properties panel), go to the files tab, and select.
