Upload/download rate not displaying in Mac Application bar

Hi,

Ever since I updated my transmission version, the transmission icon on the Mac application bar (the one on the bottom of the desktop with excel, and itunes and safari icons on it) no longer displays the upload/download rate. I can see the transmission rate when I'm looking at the transmission box, but can't keep up with how much I'm uploading/downloading when I'm on the net or using Word. I have to actually click on the Transmission icon and go into the program. I'm sure it's an easy fix, but I can't seem to find the right setting so that I can see the transmission rate easily. Anyone know how to fix this?

For future reference it's called the "Dock", not the "Mac Application Bar".
