/Users/mitchell/Desktop/Transmission_1.5x/libtransmission/trevent.c:385: failed assertion `session->events != NULL'
After it restarts, everything seems to go okay - i'm back to normal up/download speeds on the torrents once they're done re-checking. Until the next time it locks up, that is. That takes about ten minutes.
It also seems to be the case that Transmission intermittently becomes unresponsive - the GUI stops updating, and i get the spinning rainbow ball when i mouse over it - and after a few minutes like that, it crashes spontaneously. Transmission keeps using some CPU (1-10%) during the unresponsive episodes, so i don't think it's in either a hang or an infinite loop. I don't really know what's going on there.
I've tried a nightly build, but it won't run on 10.4.
So, any advice? Does anyone else have this problem? If so, should i file a bug report? Is there some way i can collect more information about what's happening?
Obvious questions i might be asked are (a) what happens if i mount over appletalk or NFS instead and (b) why i don't run the client on the linux box instead. The answer is that the linux box is in fact a network-attached storage unit, which doesn't seem to do appletalk or NFS properly, and on which i don't have the ability to run arbitrary programs. At least not yet - a medium-term goal is to get it opened up, upgrade the netatalk daemon, and install a CLI version of Transmission.
Thanks,
tom
