Torrent Properties Peers Tab Display Problem

Post by josephj »

I'm using transmission 1.5.1 on kubuntu hardy x86 with the gui interface.

In general, it works very nicely. I particularly like the Peers Tab Status column which lets me see where my peers are coming from and if my port is open ("I" entries are present).

It works fine, but has a small but annoying display problem. I believe this problem existed in the previous release as well.

I right click on a downloading torrent and select Properties.
Then, I select the Peers tab.
When there are too many peers to fit in the window, a vertical scroll bar appears on the right with the scroll handle at the top of the scrollbar.
Then, I click once or twice (ascending or descending) on any of the columns headers to change the displayed sort order.
So far, so good, but:

Over time, the handle on the scrollbar moves down by itself (as if it were following a particular selected peer entry) and the top of the list scrolls off the screen. It sometimes does this several times by itself and I have not seen it return to the top unless the scrollbar has removed itself (when the number of peers decreases enough to fit in the window) and then has reappeared (when the number of peers increases again exceeding the window capacity).

When I move the scroll handle to back to the top, it (and the display) stays there for awhile and then starts moving itself down again.

Whether or not I select (highlight) a particular peer line in the display does not appear to have any effect on this problem.

When you sort any list like this one, it is usually because the details you're most interested in will be at the top, so that's where the display should start out (as it does) and where it should stay (which it doesn't) until you explicitly move it.

It would be great to get this fixed.

Thanks.

Joe
