Re: Downloading external hard drive
External hard drives are not ideal to download torrents to because of transfer speed and reliability issues. I recommend downloading to the hard drive and then moving once complete.
Re: Downloading external hard drive
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I wouldn't normally download to an external hard drive but i'm going away for a bit and want to leave my computer to download. I have some quite large files to get through so if i leave my mac on i will run out of space. Does anyone know of a good torrent for downloading to an external drive.
Thanks

I boot from and download to an external firewire drive, and Transmission doesn't have any problem whatsoever. Maybe the harddrive you use is just slow?
Re: Downloading external hard drive
All my downloads/uploads are existing in an external firewire HD as well. I never have any problem with Transmission or other clients complaint about it. It's better to use external HD for doing torrents anyway, because spinning your internal HD on the day and night basis would shorting years of your computer.
