1.61 / 8454 Crashing, Slow, Beachball

Hi, I've been using Transmission for a while now but recently had some problems. It's been crashing spontaneously, freezing with spinning beachball (and sometimes never coming back to normal, with force quit having no result, forcing me to reboot). If I leave Transmission alone it is less likely to crash. Most of the crashes seem to be triggered by clicking on things or attempting to use the web interface. I switched to a nightly build and still had these problems. This all seems to have occurred since I upgraded my internet package, but I can't see how this would cause these issues.

Any suggestions or help appreciated and welcomed, thanks in advance!
