Hey guys, I love the groups feature, but think that it could be pushed a little further to enhance it's functionality. Let me brain dump on you:
I currently have groups set up for Downloading, Paused, Seeding. Some of these categories are further split into subcategories; for example, Seeding is grouped by trackers. I keep my downloads and seeds organized in this fashion. I currently have to keep this all organized manually, but I think it would be great to be able to have Transmission change a torrents grouping based on its current status automatically
Let's say I have a group set up so that when a torrent from tracker.com is added, it is automatically placed in Downloading: tracker.com group (this functionality is already present). Once this torrent has completed downloading, Transmission automatically moves it to the new group Seeding: tracker.com based on the criteria of its tracker tracker and has completed the download. The torrents being seeded will automatically be grouped by Transmission, and remain under the group's heading which I can collapse to minimize junk, or, when I create/edit the group "Seeding: tracker.com" I have the option of hiding the group entirely to hide its presence from the main Transmission window. This will reduce the clutter that results from leaving seeded torrents that you really don't need to think anything of. Of course, with the hiding option there will need to be a quick and temporary way of showing hidden groups (a command key combination/menu item perhaps?)
Hopefully that makes sense. It would be nice to have a count of the torrents listed under a group by the groups name (you know, there's the collapse/expand arrow, the group color, the name, and then (24) or something to show how many torrents there are).
If you need further explanation let me know. Thanks for your great work.

Won't don't you use the filters, so you can have less groups and just filter if you want to see seeding, etc.
