Transmission 1.30 crashing

Transmission usually works great for me and I would rather use it over other apps.
But I am now having a reoccuring issue that is starting to just piss me off - Transmission quits on its on with no alerts, sometimes the app even locks up prior to quitting.

I am running Transmission 1.0, running OS X 10.4.11, I have already repaired my permissions, and Software Update is up to date.

So what's the deal? why the quitting all of a sudden?

Ive tried upgrading also but ever version from 1.0 - 1.54 pretty much does this.

Alright, were can I get old versions of the nightlies?

Also, Ive got a crash report from the Console. Thread 6 crashed this time, but Im noticing the thread number changes:

Is this: "/Users/mitchell/" normal.
mitchell is not my username and never has been.

I am noticing a trend in these crashes. Since transmission is crashing when I reopen it all the torrents have to have their existing data checked ~ it usually crashes after checking a certain one.

Ill keep nosing around to get you all as much info as possible.

You are running 1.30, which is an old, unsupported version. Please update to the latest for your operating system: 1.54.
