transmission 1.73 8832 freezes when speed limiting

tried downloading 4 torrents over night to use up off peak usage.I speed limited to 30 kb/s, Transmission then froze had to reboot computer only way to unfeeze the computer. tried changing speed limit to 20, 40 kb/s still froze have had no probs until now can any one help cheers
