I posted in some other forums but it seems this is the most active.
No matter what bittorrent program I use, I cannot control the upload or download speed.
As far as upload it maxes my upstream bandwidth. Download seems to be a little controllable, if I set it to 5k, it fluctuates between 15-25k...that's what controllable is right now.
snow leopard 10.6.1 , newest version of transmission, but as said this has happened with the other 4 torrent clients I have tried, exact same problem, although speed limits look as if they are obeyed in the program, I can see using istats menu, and more importantly, the outgoing graph in the QoS section of my router, a wrt-54g tm using tomato firmware, that I am indeed maxing out my upstream connection.
Help!
Thanks.
switching to wireless, all caps off, my download speeds are much slower (im right next to router), and my upload speed in this program, the only one open, is reported 0 kb/s. In router it shows between 15k-35k being uploaded though. Again with it as only program running
with transmission and all other programs closed. closed up and down float between 0 and .2

Re: Can't control speed
I tried using the sysctl.conf fix to fix the problem, but I never had crashes anyway and memory and cpu footprint was very small always.
The problem is no matter what upload/download limits I set they are completely ignored and they max out my connection.
