1.81 - Working smooth for anyone? (LOCKED duplicate thread)

Well, the program opens for me now and does not hang. But now none of my downloads start. My port is for sure open. I had a bunch of torrents running smooth on 1.76 and now they seem to have trouble connecting to peers and even starting a download. I had it sitting for about 20 mins now, gonna try to leave it a bit longer and see if anything happens.

Where can I find a 1.76 download?

Not for me. Sounds like you have the same experience as me with 1.8 and 1.81 so far.

I found 1.8 basically just hung, showing not responding in Activity Monitor with periodic brief periods of responding.

I've now tried 1.81 and while Transmission no longer hangs, it doesn't seem to be doing much. It's taking several minutes to get any peers reconnected, and once it has the number seems low, and no actual downloading or uploading is going on. On trying to quite 1.81, the application stops responding.

Not sure what the problem is I'll be going back to 1.76 for the moment.

All of this is on an up to date MBP running 10.6.2

PS. I pulled my copy of 1.76 out of the trash, so maybe you can do the same?

Same problem her. Version 1.80b3 worked perfect. The update to 1.81 kill the app. I can't launch Transmission any longer. I just get a crash report. I went back to version 1.80b2 which I had available. Since then everything is fine again.

I've just tried 1.82, and it gives the impression of working OK now. Guess I'll let it go for a while, and hopefully nothing bad will happen.

EDIT: hmmm, maybe I spoke too soon. 1.82 does seems to work, but after switching back and forth between it and 1.76 a couple of times, it *seems* like 1.82 is slower to acquire peers, and doesn't seem to be downloading at the same rate. Back to 1.76 I guess.

Downloading is perfect. Port is open. Uploading - not so much. Won't stay connected. Any suggestions? I'm using MacBook Pro with a Time Capsule router. It starts seeding, for a few seconds, then stops. Over and over again.

This may be fixed now in the nightly builds. I'd be interested to hear feedback on build r10017 (or higher) from http://transmission.xpjets.com/

Everyone that took the time to post here, please try the nightly and report back, good or bad.
