Afterthought: This was after the upgrade to Transmission 4.0.0.
First the 4.0.0 upgrade which worked fine for a few days. Then the forced power cycle crash. Then restart, now I can't use magnet links any more.

Browser invoking wrong Transmission exe... help...
After years of uneventful use of Transmission (MacOS) I have a new and strange problem. In the past (for years) if I clicked on a Magnet link, I got a popup message asking if it is OK to open application 'Transmission'. I would say OK, and the torrent would be added to the Download queue in my runni...

Verify Local Data says OK, but corrupted files?
I have a DL that is in a very strange state. Transmission thinks it is complete. Of 10 files in the torrent folder, 3 are corrupted (media that cannot be played with any standard player). They are nevertheless recognised by the OS as being of the correct media file type (i.e. not "data" or...

How does seeding queue work? Puzzled
I thought that the queue worked kinda like this: S torrents are seeding, and W torrents are waiting to seed. When one of the seeding group stalls, after a certain elapsed time T, Transmission gives up on it and checks those waiting to seed, to find out if there is demand for one of them right now. T...

categories?
I was just reading a comparative review of bittorrent clients https://www.applegazette.com/mac/top-5-bittorrent-clients-macos/ and it features (prominently) a "Categories" feature in Transmission... just DL'd v3 in hope of using this feature, but can't find any switch that looks like it wo...

"seeding complete" when it is no such thing
This is a strange behaviour, or so it seems to me, but maybe it's how Transmission is supposed to work? I finally figured out how to implement idle timeouts, or I thought I had anyway! I turned on "stop seeding when inactive for 30 minutes." What I thought this would do: stop trying to see...

Transmission 2.92 on El Capitan: most seeds idle!
(yes, I know that's a pretty old MacOS! been busy dealing with Mojave on multiple Hackintoshen and have not got around to upgrading the trusty old iMac that "just works"...) I observe with some frustration that Transmission on this iMac is not switching away from seeds that go idle (even f...

power hit... Verify Local Data Not Working? [solved]
This is a new problem, not experienced before. I usually have a few torrents running on a semi-retired host. In the past, it has weathered the occasional power hit without trouble. However, recently we had an outage which perhaps occurred during a disk write or logfile update; at any rate when I res...

n00b question about transmission-remote -l
greetings all more experienced users (which is everyone) -- I've been googling around and have not yet found any key to the output fields for transmission-remote -l specifically the last few fields ... 100% seeding at 250 KiB/s [6.66] the last number in square brackets -- is that the upload/download...
