Re: Port is Closed
Go to Transmission Preferences and select the "randomise port on launch" and "automatically map port" options. It is possible that your ISP has been or has just started blocking ports through which a lot of P2P sharing passes.

Re: 2.94 Update Error
Quit your current version of Transmission.
Go to this link https://transmissionbt.com/download/
Select version 2.94 for the Mac, download it, open the disk image and drag the app. to the applications folder. Select the option to replace the previous version, keep both version, or do nothing at all.

Re: Unpack / Unrar Completed torrents
I cannot comment on your unpacking problem as I use The Unarchiver and Stuffit Expander on a Mac. The only workaround I can suggest is to duplicate the .rar file before unpacking it, retain the original packed file in the default torrent file, and move the copy to be unpacked to the folder of your c...

Transmission torrent and successful upload or not?
I recently created my first torrent directly on a popular and well-known torrent webpage, and with Transmission as my only and therefore default torrent app., saved the Transmission torrent file on the desktop. 3 days later, I see that the torrent has 7 leechers. Does this mean that I am still the o...

Re: Change of download location and version update
Well, I'm not really quite sure what's going on, but after removing all my active downloads from Transmission, then adding them back in and verifying local data, I've got everything going again. The only curiosity now is that all my ratios have gone to zero.

Re: Change of download location and version update
Whatever I did opening the Transmission Peer Listening Port successfully so that the Peer Listening Port appears with a green light next to it in Transmission Preferences has been a disaster. Now I cannot download or upload anything at all with Transmission. Any theories?

Re: Change of download location and version update
I think the critical combination was 1) setting the Mac's System Preferences/Security/Firewall/Advanced to allow incoming connections 2) setting the port number in the router settings and making sure that the port forwarding was being done to my computer with its reserved IP (as set in router config...

Re: Change of download location and version update
OK, so I managed to get the 49271 peer listening port to go green! As a consequence of doing that, I now seem to be unable to upload or download!

Re: Change of download location and version update
The yellow triangle problem is largely solved thanks to your tip. I have been fiddling around with the port problem since your post, and think part of the trouble is that I do not understand all the jargon and the process, even after reading all the help pages. The router configuration option...

Change of download location and version update
I have recently bought a new Intel Mac and this has entailed two changes 1 reorganising files on the computer, which has probably resulted in changing both the download destination of a file being downloaded and the path to the file to be shared. Do these changes of locations mean that a download ma...

Re: No download and upload speed visible in window
Been away for a while and not using Transmission. Curiously the problem has more or less sorted itself out: I didn't have to reinstall T or downdate to an earlier version than 1.54. Every now and then the information disappears again, but with window resizing and quitting the program from time to ti...

Re: No download and upload speed visible in window
Whoops! I meant I have Version 1.54. Sorry. The problem referred to above has only just started happening, after a long time which was totally trouble-free.

No download and upload speed visible in window
I run Transmission 1.72 on a PPC Mac with OS 10.4.11 I am sharing about 30 torrents, of which only about 5 are actively being seeded or leeched ie downloaded and uploaded simultaneously. It used to be possible to see the download and upload speeds and ratio on each of the items at the right-hand end...
